Amu Darya: The Oxus

Amu Darya: The Oxus - UZBEKISTAN Silk Routes
This is an image that you just have to try. Yes its through the window of a moving bus, yes my lens was playing up. Why? I am crossing an arm of the Amu Darya river, famous since before Alexander the Great. Historically known as the Oxus, it no longer reaches the sea. So much is taken from it that it just stops. Its why the Aral Sea is now only 8% of its former size! Uzbekistan, close to the Turkmen border. Oh, 'Darya' means ocean. All of the left side of the shot should be water.
