REACTOR - Unsustainable Cities? the on-line 2014 RGS Exhibition
This is theReactor that caught fire on that momentous night in 1986. It was the first nuclear accident on this scale that the world had ever experienced. The Chernobyl Atomic complex, just a few kilometers from the town of Pripryat contained 6 reactors. This one, number 4 burnt for 11 days, which eventually lead to 350,000 people being moved, 2 million acres being taken out of agricultural production, and to the downfall of the Soviet Empire.
