Sizewell - Unsustainable Cities? the on-line 2014 RGS Exhibition
There are 2 nuclear reactors at Sizewell, in Suffolk. The oldest is being de-commissioned. They occupy a 245 acre site by the sea. Nuclear power has always been contraversial, and the issue was raised again in 2011, after the disaster at Fukushima. Germany then decided to do without it. But on the day that this photo was taken, the British Government announced the first of a new 'C' series of plants, at Hinckley Point, in Somerset. If there is to be a second in the 'C' series, it is likely to be here at Sizewell.
