This is one of a series of 100 shots taken at the scene. Initially there were 3 bears, the smallest must have made the kill, and was then pushed off. They don't often fight, it takes too much energy, and an injury could prove fatal.
The reaction to these images, when they were first shown was 'too bloody'. But that's the way it is
